Job Description

Halisi Family Hospital is a multi-specialty 25-bed inpatient and outpatient hospital in Kitengela, Kajiado county.

Role Summary 

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the role holder will be responsible for the delivery of high￾quality and compassionate health and wellness services to patients by ensuring their review and treatment is as per nursing standards and Hospital protocols and through continuous improvement in quality, patient safety and customer experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Ensure adequate knowledge of and compliance with all Hospital policies, procedures, and systems, especially those pertaining to the provision of medical and nursing services through leadership, mentorship, and coaching.
  • Work closely with the nursing team to develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice as guided by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Actively participate in hospital-wide continuous quality and patient safety improvement initiatives and programs.
  • Foster effective collaboration among nursing and medical staff, specialists, and other departments to promote an integrated approach to service provision and enhance good patient outcomes.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify continuing learning requirements for nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement a training plan to ensure that nursing staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Monitor customer feedback and design and implement innovative ways to enhance customer experience.
  • Participate in the annual planning and budgeting for nursing services during preparation of the Hospital strategic plan and budget.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing and orientation of staff in the nursing department.
  • Prepare and timely submit dynamic progress reports, including reliable medical statistics and health information to the Supervisor.
  • To deputize, across all aspects, the Chief Nursing Officer portfolio when required.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution. Bachelor’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • At least fifteen (15) years of active nursing experience in a busy hospital with at least five (5) years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya and possession of a valid practising license.
  • Valid certification in BLS and ACLS. PALS, ETAT+ and EmONC will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and internet
