Tana River County is one of the forty seven (47) counties in the Republic of Kenya. The County takes its name from River Tana which is the longest river in Kenya. It is a County in the former Coast Province, Kenya with an area of 35,375.8 square kilometers (13,658.7 sq mi) and a population of 262,684 according to the 2012 census.

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate MUST:

• be a Kenyan citizen;
• be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
• have experience of at least three (3) years; and
• have the ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with sensitivity
• and respect for diversity.

The functions of the Board are to—

• ensure proper and efficient exercise of the powers and performance of the functions of the Corporation;
• advise the management of the Corporation generally on the exercise of the powers and the performance of the functions of the corporation;
• approve the estimates of the revenue and expenditure of the Corporation; and perform such other functions as are provided for under
