About the job

  • South B Hospital is seeking a qualified, experienced, and patient-focused Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our clinical team and provide high-quality musculoskeletal care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with musculoskeletal injuries, disorders, and diseases.
  • Perform elective and emergency orthopaedic surgical procedures in accordance with established clinical standards.
  • Manage fractures, trauma cases, degenerative joint conditions, congenital deformities, and other orthopaedic conditions.
  • Conduct outpatient consultations, inpatient ward rounds, and post-operative follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with anaesthetists, theatre staff, physiotherapists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in emergency and on-call rosters as required.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Master of Medicine (MMed) in Orthopaedic Surgery or an equivalent postgraduate qualification recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Valid practicing licence from the KMPDC.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ post-specialization clinical experience in a busy hospital setting is preferred.
