Physiotherapy and Rehabilitative Services Manager

Main Duties:

  • Monitor standards of patients’ care to ensure delivery of quality patient care.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and other support staff.
  • Developing structures, systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective functioning of the department.
  • Liaising with the Director of Medical services to develop realistic budgetary estimates for consideration in the budget approval process.
  • Ensuring adherence to the approved budget through prudent spending and effective cost control measures.
  • Ensuring the Department has a strong team of highly competent and motivated staff performing to set performance standards.
  • Ensuring highest possible standards of quality and operational efficiency in Departmental processes to realize high internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Be accountable for the integrity, efficiency and effectiveness of Departmental processes, systems and procedures.
  • To be accountable for performance of the department including attainment of Strategic objectives under the strategic plan, annual work plans and other agreed targets.
  • Developing and implementing systems and structures to ensure adequate and reliable supply of consumables for the Department.
  • Developing specifications and liaising with procurement department for timely procurement of planned equipment.
  • Preparing statistical reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and submitting the same to the medical records section.
  • Representing the institution in matters of physiotherapy practice and profession.
  • Ensuring, overseeing and monitoring overall running of the physiotherapy department.
  • Supervising and allocating duties to all physiotherapy staff to ensure effective, efficient and timely delivery of physiotherapy services at all times.
  • Communicating the hospital’s strategic plan, objectives, policies and procedures to physiotherapy staff to ensure compliance and achievability.
  • Monitoring and controlling stock movement within the department to ensure all revenue is captured and proper record keeping.
  • Representing departmental staff issues to the management through the laid down hierarchy.
  • Be accountable for the adherence to set professional and ethical standards in the practice of Physiotherapy and related services.
  • Be accountable for the hospital’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relating to physiotherapy.
  • Developing systems and structures to ensure staff development to expected standards.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required.
  • Any other duty assigned from time to time

Required Qualifications and Skills for the Position

  • Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy
  • Master’s Degree is desirable
  • Minimum five years as a team leader
  • Registered & Licenced by Physiotherapy Council of Kenya
  • Supervisory experience
  • Keen to details with high degree of accuracy
