Our client, a prominent company specializing in cement manufacturing in Tripoli, Libya, is actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable professional to join their exceptional team.

THE JOB

As a PLC/ Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the programmable logic control (PLC) systems and automation processes within our cement production facilities. This position requires expertise in troubleshooting, programming, and optimizing the performance of PLC systems.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Design and develop PLC-based control systems for cement manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth and efficient production operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process requirements, gather specifications, and generate system designs.
  • Develop and implement PLC programs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, or other programming languages as required.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including troubleshooting, debugging, and repairing malfunctioning PLC systems.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and tests to ensure the proper functioning of control equipment, identifying and resolving any potential issues.
  • Regularly evaluate existing processes for improvement opportunities, proposing and implementing changes to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate with technicians, operators, and other team members to ensure effective communication and coordination in achieving operational targets.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during commissioning and start-up of new systems or equipment installations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in PLC systems and automation, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (at least 11 years) as a PLC/ Control Engineer in the cement or similar heavy industrial manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong working knowledge of PLC programming languages, such as ladder logic and function block diagrams.
  4. Proven experience in programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC systems within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  5. Familiarity with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) software and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
  6. Proficient in utilizing industry-standard software and hardware platforms, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING THE RIGHT PERSON

We are offering the following for the successful candidate:

  1. A competitive gross salary of 1000 – 2500 USD Per Month.
  2. Overtime of 2.5 USD per hour.
  3. Food and local allowance of 300-400 LYD (Libyan dinar).
  4. Free accommodation and transport.
