Pool of Subject Matter Experts

Specific objectives are:

  • Work package 1 – To provide capacity development measures to strengthen individual Gender Change Agents (GCAs) in their ability to promote, champion, and enable positive changes for the empowerment of women.
  • Work package 2 – To increase the strategy development and communication, and advocacy skills of another set of GCAs who have already acquired technical skills but who need to increase the strategy development and communication and advocacy skills of another set of GCAs who have already acquired technical skills but who need.
  • Work package 3 – To strengthen the institutional capacity of 9 women’s organizations to act for the sustainable management of land resources with a special focus on gender equality and the 3R approach.

Note: Position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding.

Availability

The Pool of Subject Matter Experts should start work on October 1st, 2025.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborating with all the other experts in developing a capacity development program and content for work packages.
  • Supporting the preparation of training materials.
  • Active participation in online training under work package 2.

Providing expertise on the following topics, among others:

  • Status quo of the differentiated situation for women and girls in the management of land resources and the underlying social inequalities (WP 1&2).
  • Political communication and advocacy skills (WP 1&2).
  • Empowerment strategies and actions (WP 1).
  • Negotiation in international conferences (WP 2).
  • Other topics that the contractor chooses to add.

Hard Skills

Education/training:

  • University degree (e.g. ‘master’s or German Diploma) in Gender Studies (5 of 10 points) OR;
  • University degree in Communication.

Language: depending on country of service (English for Kenya; French for Madagascar and Mali).

  • English language skills, C1-level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
  • French language skills, C1-level in the CEFRL.
  • General professional experience: 5 years of professional experience in the field of developing and facilitating online trainings.

Specific professional experience: 3 years of experience in each of the following fields:

  • gender-equality.
  • advocacy and empowerment strategies and action.
  • change management.
  • negotiation in international conferences.
  • International professional experience outside the country/region of assignment: 2 years of professional experience in consulting or teaching outside Africa.
  • A deep commitment to the mission of a better, safer future for the world’s poorest people through secure access to land.
