Pre Sales Specialist (GCP)

Role Summary

  • Abacus is seeking a highly skilled and articulate Solution Architect to join our team. Someone experienced GCP Consultant to join our growing Cloud Solutions team. As a strategic technical advisor, you will work closely with clients to understand their business needs and design scalable Google Cloud solutions that support their transformation journey. This role requires strong technical expertise in GCP, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex requirements into clear cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Solutioning

  • Lead pre-sales discussions with customers to understand business challenges and cloud requirements.
  • Conduct discovery sessions, workshops, and technical deep-dives to gather client needs.
  • Present GCP capabilities, best practices, and architectural recommendations.
  • Develop customized solution proposals, technical documentation, and value-driven presentations.

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective GCP architectures covering compute, storage, networking, security, DevOps, and data services.
  • Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to validate solution feasibility.
  • Create detailed architecture diagrams, PoCs (Proof of Concepts), and demo environments.
  • Recommend migration strategies for on-prem or multi-cloud environments.

Proposals, RFPs & Commercial Support

  • Support sales teams with technical inputs for bids, proposals, RFPs, and pricing models.technically compelling API management and GCP solution inputs for bids, proposals, and RFPs.
  • Highlight differentiators such as API analytics, AI-driven insights, developer experience, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure solution alignment with GCP frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Support pricing models for Apigee X/hybrid, and ensure alignment with GCP compliance and security standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Sales, Delivery, and Practice Leads to ensure successful handover from pre-sales to implementation.
  • Participate in internal knowledge-sharing and contribute to building GCP playbooks and best practices.

Thought Leadership

  • Stay updated with GCP product updates, certifications, and new releases.
  • Represent the company in GCP events, webinars, and client briefings.
  • Provide insights on market trends and maintain competitive technical knowledge.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud Pre-Sales or Solution Architecture.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of GCP services such as:
  • Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run
  • Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Pub/Sub
  • VPC, Cloud VPN, Interconnect
  • IAM, KMS, Security Command Center
  • Cloud Functions, Center Deep experience with Apigee API Management
  • Experience in developing PoCs, demos, and solution architecture diagrams.
  • Understanding of cloud networking, security, backup, DR, and cost optimization.
  • API proxy design, policies, and flow
  • Experience in Apigee X & Apigee Hybrid architecture

Preferred Certifications

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
  • Google Cloud Engineer / Data Engineer
  • Any relevant cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are a plus.
