Job Description

A prosperous county in economic, social and political development with residents enjoying high quality of life. MISSION To foster equitable and sustained socio-economic development through effective and efficient mobilization and utilization of available resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of information;
  • Co-ordination of information services;
  • Carrying out research on local and International press on public opinion on the County Government;
  • Identifying events that require packaging and dissemination to the media; and
  • Preparing media supplements, documentaries and features. In addition, the officer will supervise and guide staff under him/her.

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

  • Bachelors Degree in any of the following; Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, International Relations, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution.
  • Have served in the grade of Chief Information Officer or a comparable relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Have a clear understanding of working of the media;
  • possess advanced computer application skills;
  • A management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage.
