About the Role

• Solvo Global is seeking a highly experienced Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise infrastructure services. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of hosting environments across cloud, Linux, and Windows platforms.
• The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, deep infrastructure expertise, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in driving infrastructure modernization initiatives while mentoring team members and supporting business objectives through reliable SaaS service delivery.

Job Summary

• The Principal Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability and optimal performance of a wide variety of hosting services and the infrastructure on which they operate.
• This position supports cloud-based environments running both Linux and Windows operating systems and works closely with leadership teams to design, implement, document, and support scalable hosted services aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations & Support

• Support Engineering teams in development and testing activities.
• Maintain high availability and optimal performance of hosting services.
• Perform server installation, deployment, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Manage application and system deployments across infrastructure environments.
• Configure and provision customer accounts and services.
• Perform patch management and infrastructure lifecycle maintenance.
• Conduct log analysis and system health monitoring.

Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution

• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex infrastructure and application stack issues.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity challenges and traffic utilization concerns.
• Resolve authentication and access-related issues.
• Perform SSL troubleshooting and certificate management.
• Support application debugging efforts across infrastructure environments.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to restore services quickly and effectively.

Automation & Configuration Management

• Continue evolving automation and configuration management practices.
• Design and implement automated operational workflows.
• Improve system reliability through scripting and automation initiatives.
• Drive efficiency improvements across infrastructure operations.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

• Participate in the development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
• Test and validate recovery procedures.
• Support business continuity initiatives.
• Ensure critical services remain resilient during outages and disruptions.

Infrastructure Planning & Architecture

• Collaborate with hosting providers and managed service partners.
• Develop innovative infrastructure solutions.
• Participate in capacity planning initiatives.
• Create technical specifications for infrastructure expansion.
• Evaluate and recommend server and networking equipment.
• Support infrastructure modernization and cloud adoption efforts.

Leadership & Project Management

• Lead major infrastructure initiatives and projects.
• Ensure project timelines and deliverables remain on track.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.
• Collaborate with leadership teams on strategic infrastructure decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of professional experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, Cloud Infrastructure, or related areas.
• Advanced experience supporting Linux and Windows server environments.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies and enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience working with databases in production environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Flexibility to participate in after-hours maintenance, upgrades, and support activities when required.
