Job Description

The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament Cap. 117. The primary mandate of NHC is to play a principal role in the implementation of the Government’s Housing Policies and Programmes.

Job Specification:

Duties and responsibilities will entail;

  • Initiating the development of research strategy/protocols/guidelines (Housing Research)
  • Reviewing relevant proposals and prioritizing areas of research
  • Coordinating the research process
  • Identifying research funding partnerships
  • Organizing sensitization for staff on research and innovation strategy/protocols and guidelines.
  • Drafting reports on research findings and innovations
  • Initiate the publication and dissemination of information on housing research
  • Monitoring the implementation of Research strategy and other initiatives
  • Coordinating dissemination of research findings to relevant stakeholders/Departments
  • Identifying positive research findings on new products and services at the Corporation.
  • Developing new ideas, techniques, methodologies, approaches, practices and procedures in data analysis
  • Initiating development of research strategy/protocols/guidelines
  • Assisting in preparing large datasets for public access
  • Developing Research Proposals.
  • Initiating training, capacity building and technology transfer proposals; ( CAPACITY BUILDING & TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER)
  • Initiating training, capacity building and technology transfer proposals;
  • Evaluating training, capacity building and technology transfer proposals;
  • Preparing proposals on design of training, capacity building and technology transfer programs;
  • Designing training needs analysis methodologies and instruments;
  • Conducting and coordinate training programs;
  • Ensuring effective and timely communication and messaging to trainees; and
  • Preparing budgets.

Person Specification:

For appointment to this grade, a person must have:

  • At least eight (8) years work experience, three (3) of which must have been in a supervisory position;
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Member of a recognized professional body and in good standing;
  • Registered with relevant professional regulatory body;
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfilled the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
