Procurement Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality.
  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
  • In liaison with the Admin team and Operations team, monitor inventory levels and plan procurement to prevent stock outs or overstocking.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability and ethical procurement policies.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on pricing trends and supplier options.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports for management.
  • Work within allocated budgets and provide input during budget planning.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and priorities.
  • Ensure timely delivery and proper inspection of goods to conrm quality and quantity before dispatching to camp.
  • Manage supplier performance by conducting regular evaluations and resolving disputes.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks in the supply chain, including disruptions or price fluctuations.
  • Source eco-friendly, locally produced goods to support Emboo River Camp’s sustainability mission.
  • Manage logistics for purchased items, including ensuring proper packaging by suppliers, storage before dispatching to Camp and transportation.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on procurement policies and practices..

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in procurement, Business Administration, or related eld;
  • Proven 3+ years experience in accounting, administration, or a similar role;
  • Prociency in supply chain management, MS Ofce Suite or Google Docs and Sheets;
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices is a plus.
  • Remuneration and benets are market-related and in line with a position of this standing.
