Job Description

A holistic platform delivering financial wellness for individuals, improved performance for companies, and new opportunities for banks and lenders. Power is a platform dedicated to enabling holistic financial services to the online informal economy and the poorly served formal economy.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Vision and Strategy:

  • Define the overall vision and strategy for insurance products, aligning them with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs, and regulatory changes that may impact insurance products.

Backlog Management:

  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, which includes features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and create user stories that clearly define the functionality of the product.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, including underwriters, claims adjusters, and actuaries, and the development team.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between different teams to meet business objectives.

Release Planning:

  • Collaborate with the development team to plan and prioritize releases based on business priorities, market needs, and technical constraints.
  • Define the scope of each release and ensure that it aligns with the overall product roadmap.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the development and implementation of insurance products.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies and ensure that the product meets regulatory compliance.

Quality Assurance:

  • Define acceptance criteria for user stories and work with the quality assurance team to ensure that the product meets the specified requirements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing to validate that the product meets business expectations.

Data Analysis:

  • Use data and analytics to make informed decisions, identify areas for improvement and measure the success of insurance products.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess product performance and user satisfaction.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure that insurance products comply with relevant laws and standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory concerns.

Continuous Improvement:

  •  Foster a culture of continuous improvement, seeking feedback from stakeholders and end-users to enhance products over time.
  •  Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in steering startups toward growth and innovation or taking increasingly important roles in more traditional business.
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of fintech trends, digital finance, and customer behaviors.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
  • Thrives under pressure, adapting quickly to evolving market conditions.
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing short-term goals with long-term vision.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance regulatory landscape is a plus.
