The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. 265 of 1986 as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.

Job Specification

• Duties and responsibilities will entail assisting in:
• Fabricating production machines, equipment, parts and spare parts;
• Installation of machines;
• Carrying out mechanical works;
• Production and distribution of utilities (Steam, compressed air, water, hydrant system and Humidification plants);
• Testing of machines and equipment regarding its functionality;
• Servicing and maintaining machines, plants and equipment as scheduled ( rollers, CTC, Lithe); and
• Undertaking mechanical maintenance of machines.

Person Specifications

• For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following Engineering disciplines: Mechanical or other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Registration by Engineers Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer;
• Membership with the Institute of Engineers of Kenya; and
• Proficiency in computer application skills.
