Production Manager

Job Summary/Objective:

  • The Production Manager at Kenafric Manufacturing Limited is responsible for overseeing the production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves strategic planning and the implementation of continuous improvement practices to optimize manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Planning and organizing production schedules
  • Daily planning of kanbans with the value stream supervisors
  • Shift planning with the hr on a weekly basis
  • Liaising with the stores to ensure there is adequate raw materials
  • Ensuring MTO is supplied within the agreed timeline as per customer’s specification
  • Ensure machines availability.
  • Establish and implement work standards for each cell
  • Daily analysis of production reports
  • Daily confirmation of production OEE reports
  • Daily confirmation of supervisors’ reports regarding materials input and kgs output Checking variances in production through kgs input and output
  • Daily production reviews with QC regarding rejects and rework Daily reviews with Kaizen coordinator on kaizen projects.
  • Manpower productivity and training
  • Ensure skilled manpower placed in the right cell position
  • Carry out roles’ reviews on a monthly basis with the Hr to establish training needs Identify employees to be trained and liase with the hr to ensure training takes place Implement skills improvement plans and training where required
  • Projects
  • 5s projects
  • TPM projects
  • Visual management example boards and floor marking for tracking kanban wise all input availability and progress and creating PULL system
  • Customer complaints resolution
  • Conduct monthly pareto analysis for topmost frequently customer complaints followed with RCA and preventive measures
  • Maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure that final product meets quality standards and customers’ specifications
  • Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards
  • Come up with waste reduction methods and implement during production Management
  • Daily reviews with QC, supervisors, Kaizen coordinator
  • Updating Goal sheets for Supervisors and operators, establish monthly reviews and adhere to review standards
  • Daily reporting to the operations manager
  • Monthly System/Stock Count with Variance report to be submitted on email by 3rd of every month
  • Monthly Variance explanation report to be submitted on email by the 8th of every month. System Lock out on the 3rd of every month for the previous month.
  • Update of Daily Production Report (OEE, Cost, Kg….) by Production Clerk
  • Incident Report (Breakdown/Injury/Machine not Running/Under performance Break through discussion

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Printing Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s in business administration is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the printing industry.
