Job Description

We are a not for profit organization that works with vulnerable children in the public school system to improve their lives and school performance. Founded in 2012, Food for Education provides subsidized school meals every day to over 15,000 kids with a goal of feeding 1,000,000 kids by 2025

About the Role 

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Production and Planning Associate. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient distribution of production items at the kitchen level. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of kitchen operations, from monitoring processes to tracking costs and assisting in purchasing activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Distribution Management

  • Ensure correct and efficient distribution of P&P items at the kitchen level.
  • Monitor and track the usage of items, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Manage repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment

Order and Supplier Management

  • Promptly communicate with Kitchen Managers to gather monthly orders/requests for essential items.
  • Track the cost and delivery of fresh produce by suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

Kitchen Operations Oversight

  • Conduct regular visits to kitchens to ensure that P&P processes are being followed.
  • Monitor and ensure timely repairs of equipment and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Assist in planning and procuring items required for new kitchens to facilitate smooth operations.

Data and Cost Management

  • Verify the accuracy of data input in dashboards by comparing reports and dashboard data.
  • Monitor daily projections and update the Ops database sheet frequently.
  • Assist in compiling data needed by other departments, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Monitor and ensure that kitchen cost trackers are updated regularly, validating data for accuracy.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data for the meals produced dashboard in the long run.

Desired Candidate Profile 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any business related course.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in a food related industry.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets software and data analysis tools.
