Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the food processing plant, ensuring efficient and effective production processes, adherence to safety and quality standards, and timely completion of production schedules. The role involves supervising a team of production workers, coordinating with other departments, and continuously seeking ways to improve production efficiency and product quality.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

General and Administrative Duties:
Supervise Production Operations:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the production line.
  • Ensure production schedules are met and production targets are achieved.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and quality.

Team Management:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate production staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
  • Manage employee schedules, including overtime and shift changes.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
  • Address and resolve quality issues promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
  • Investigate and report on workplace accidents and incidents.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for improvement in the production process.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Manage waste and reduce material loss.

Communication:

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with other departments.
  • Prepare and submit regular production reports to the Production Manager.
  • Address and resolve any production-related issues promptly.

 KPIs:

Production Efficiency:

  • Specific: Increase production efficiency by 10% within 12 months.
  • Measurable: Track efficiency using production output per hour.
  • Achievable: Implement lean manufacturing principles and train staff.
  • Relevant: Improved efficiency will reduce costs and increase output.
  • Time-bound: Achieve this improvement by the end of the fiscal year.

Quality Control:

  • Specific: Reduce the rate of product defects to less than 1% within 6 months.
  • Measurable: Monitor defect rates through regular quality checks.
  • Achievable: Enhance quality control procedures and employee training.
  • Relevant: Lower defect rates will improve customer satisfaction.
  • Time-bound: Achieve this target within 6 months.

Safety Compliance:

  • Specific: Achieve zero lost-time incidents within 12 months.
  • Measurable: Track safety incidents and lost-time due to injuries.
  • Achievable: Conduct regular safety training and audits.
  • Relevant: Ensuring a safe work environment is critical.
  • Time-bound: Maintain this standard throughout the year.

Inventory Management:

  • Specific: Reduce raw material waste by 15% within 9 months.
  • Measurable: Monitor waste levels through inventory audits.
  • Achievable: Implement better inventory management practices.
  • Relevant: Reducing waste will lower costs and improve profitability.
  • Time-bound: Achieve this reduction within 9 months.

Employee Performance:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a food processing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
