The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. 265 of 1986 as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.

Job Specification

• An officer at this level will be deployed in any of the following functional areas: Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing, Welding, Joinery, Mechanical, and Electrical and will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
• Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail Assisting in: –
• Maintaining and servicing of the water supply line;
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance in areas of specialization;
• Pumping of water to the storage tanks;
• Treating of drinking water;
• Cleaning of water tanks;
• Installing, repairing and maintaining utility systems, buildings, facilities and equipment. water, gas, drainage, sewage and other plumbing systems;
• Undertaking fabrication works;
• Operating hand and power tools associated with, plumbing, repairs, welding, joinery, mechanical, Electrical and other trades; and
• Carrying out cleaning, lubricating and oiling machinery and equipment
• Keeping the machinery, equipment and tools clean after every process.

Person Specifications

• For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
• Trade Test Certificate Grade III in any of the following areas: Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent from a recognized institution; and
• Proficiency in computer application skills.
