About You And The Role

The Programme Officer will work closely with the Global Technical Manager – Donor Programs, The Country General Manager, Donor teams, Team Leads, Fulfillment and Flight Operations Teams Counties, and youth-led and youth-focused organizations and institutions, in supporting EJAF to meet the intended medium to long-term goals of the programme.

What You’ll Do

High-Level Strategic Support

  • Engage stakeholders & partners to optimize cost and mobilize resources for the program.
  • Coordinate and support the designing and execution of a work plan that will outline stakeholder engagements, program research activities, events execution, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Contribute towards the design of a work plan that will see stakeholders sensitized through workshops and capability-building sessions
  • Organize and execute capacity development sessions for peer mentors, CHVs, Health Service Providers, and youth organization leads.
  • Plan and develop a sustainable network-building plan with external partners (Local and International).
  • Coordinate communication of data to the different stakeholders. Data communicated will aid in producing knowledge on specific aspects of the projects, stakeholder expectations, and milestones attained by the project.
  • Contribute to and/or write short reports and other documents disseminating EJAF work and communicating our activities and results to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to discussions at seminars and conferences linked to the program activities.

Workstream Management

  • Develop and execute an integrated work plan that will engage sub-county HMTs, Youth-focused and Youth-led organizations, local and international NGOs, and Civil Societies working within our areas of interest and coverage.
  • Promote an integrated approach to the implementation of Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), and HIV/AIDS services.
  • Support with planning, attending, and executing technical meetings related to SRH, and HIV/AIDS.
  • Interact with key stakeholders at the sub-county level and maintain a solid working relationship with partners involved in running the EJAF’s SRH activities.
  • Participate in the planning of stakeholder capacity-building activities and coordinate training as per the planned schedule.
  • Provide support to the community events coordinator.
  • Support in program administration including inputs to budget, strategic partnerships mapping, and program reporting activities.
  • Develop short narratives and reports that quantify and qualify the impact of the program on the communities and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate service providers for all community events.
  • Support in preparing, processing, and executing technical services contracts/agreements, SOPs, and policies.
  • Liaise with and support EJAF partners through electronic communication and/or traveling to counties to provide support in the design and implementation of the EJAF’s DSD model.

What You’ll Bring

  • A graduate degree in Public health, Community Health, program Planning, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience of at least 5 years working within the donor space. Having an experience in will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Adolescent and Young Adults programming is a strong asset.
  • Experience in conducting research and an interest in public health, health systems strengthening in Kenya
  • Ability to manage effectively tasks of various sizes, from small to complex, and simultaneous competing demands, and to deliver on time.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili
  • Excellent analytical, written, facilitation, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with good time management.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset directed towards results delivery for our partner’s stated and unstated needs.
  • An innovative and entrepreneurial approach with an open and collegial work style.
  • Ability to integrate ideas from diverse views, create partnerships, and collaborate with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel, mostly around the lake region counties.
