JOB SUMMARY

  • The Programme Assistant will support programme work in the Community Resilience and Livelihoods Programme Center, and will contribute to programmatic and administrative duties including resource mobilization.

KEY TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Programme Assistant is responsible for:

Programme Support and Delivery

  • ·Support the Programme Manager in the design, planning and implementation of strategies within the focus area.
  • Assisting in planning and overseeing of significant events within the Programme Center.
  • Maintaining programme center calendar and sending out reminders of impending appointments.
  • Preparing documentation for financial and programmatic reporting.
  • Typing letters and reports as may be required from time to time.
  • Processing requests for payments to vendors and suppliers.

Resource Mobilization and Fundraising

  • Support fundraising for implementation of the Programme Center’s mandate as per the ENA Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027.
  • Participate in resource mobilization efforts to identify opportunities and support development of concept papers and proposals for submission to prospective donors.
  • Facilitate research and study on community resilience and livelihoods focus area in relation to Gender
  • Equality Women Empowerment (GEWE) and Gender Equality Social Inclusion (GESI).

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage and update Programme Center Contact Data Base.
  • Mobilize participants and stakeholders to attend programme meetings and forums.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC:

  • ·Diploma in Environmental Studies, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences or any other related field. A degree is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two years’ related experience in programme planning and implementation.
  • Report writing and knowledge of project life cycles
  • Experience in resource mobilization (proposal development and submission).
  • Good understanding of community resilience and livelihoods context in Kenya.
