About Job

The Programme Monitoring Support Advisor will be part of the core PMEL Kenya team providing technical and managerial support. Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will be responsible for:

  • Leading on Component 1 (Programme Monitoring Supporting) including overseeing workplans, responsible for managing the following deliverables:
  • Technical support and quality assurance to MEL design (theories of change, results frameworks, value of money matrix)
  • Data quality assessments of monitoring data
  • Capacity building on monitoring for implementing partners and programme teams
  • Third Party Monitoring for programmes operating in insecure areas,
  • Programme audits
  • Managing inputs on Component 1 from sub-contractors and short-term experts
  • Internal MEL assessments and functions

What We Value:

  • Proven experience in providing technical support and quality assurance for MEL design, including theories of change, results frameworks, and value for money matrices
  • At least 15 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting on international programmes, preferably those based in Kenya
  • Experience in developing and managing data quality assurance systems
  • Experience in designing and delivering workshops for both internal and external audiences
  • Expertise in developing high-quality analyses using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods data collection tools
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as MS PowerPoint and Adobe, with the ability to create informative visuals for presentations and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management and capacity building
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs
  • Experience working on donor-funded programmes in Kenya including FCDO and/ or other donors
  • Experience of working with the Government of Kenya
  • Extensive knowledge of Kenya including the socio, economic and political environment. Based and operates in Kenya
  • At least a master’s degree in a relevant area
