Job Description

Bosch has been present in Africa since 1906, at present in ten African countries: South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Angola, Mozambique, Algeria, Nigeria, Ghana and Tunisia. Depending on future business development, the company plans to increase this number in the next years. All four Bosch business sectors – Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology – have operations on the continent.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical support relative to steam boilers;
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the tendering phase;
  • Develop the the design phase of the project.
  • Steam pipework
  • Gathering technical information with sales representatives to clarify projects;
  • Assist African sales teams with project delivery;
  • Ensuring that client requirements are fully realized;
  • Maintain regular customer contact to establish requirements and ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times;
  • Coordinate with boiler organization with regards appropriate selection of equipment, ancillaries, logistics and service support;
  • Coordinate with African notified bodies, ensuring that all equipment is supplied in accordance with African legislation;
  • Manage ongoing projects via site visits, ensuring that client requests are met in a timely manner (on a rare basis);
  • Consult external service providers (carriers, crane operators, inspection bodies, pipe fitters, etc.);
  • Follow the project delivery on sites & remotely;
  • Support service engineers with requests of amendments/extra resource & equipment.

Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or similar;
  • Experience within the steam boiler industry;
  • Technical knowledge of steam boilers and their relevant legislative requirements;
  • Ability to read P & ID as well as Electrical schematic;
  • Experience with pipework, housework & associated ancillaries;
  • Ability to manage projects;
  • Knowledge of Windows Office, Excel and appropriate Microsoft applications and AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
