ISM Containers is currently seeking a dedicated Project Manager specialized in Fit Out projects. This role will be based at our Head Office in Westlands and will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing fit-out construction projects from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities will be:

• Plan, coordinate, and manage the project processes.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Report and escalate to management as needed.
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Undertake design project from concept to completion
• Define project requirements and schedule during the “brief”
• Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans
• Set costs and project fees according to budget
• Research and decide on materials and products sourcing
• Produce “sample” and “mood products”
• Supervise work progress
• Work closely with designers, decorators, architects and constructors
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices

You are qualified if you possess: 

• Relevant Degree/Diploma ie Interior Design, Construction Management
• At least 5 years of work experience in the construction industry such as more experience can be beneficial, especially for larger and more intricate fit-out projects.
• Strong project management skills are essential. You should be proficient in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with construction project management methodologies
• You should have a solid understanding of fit-out processes, materials, and construction techniques.
• Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permits is crucial to ensure projects comply with legal requirements.
• Excellent communication skills are vital for working with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and team members.
• Leadership skills are essential to manage and motivate project teams effectively.
• You should be skilled in budget management, cost estimation, and financial analysis related to fit-out projects.
• Being able to identify and resolve issues that may arise during a fit-out project is essential.
• Experience in identifying and mitigating risks associated with fit-out projects is crucial to ensuring their successful completion.
• The ability to meet project deadlines and keep projects on schedule is a must.
• A strong portfolio showcasing past fit-out projects you’ve managed can be a powerful asset during job applications and interviews
