QSSK- Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary:

  • The overall purpose of the job is to maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and optimize instrumentation and control systems within the manufacturing plant to ensure reliable operations, minimize downtime, and support continuous production.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems;
  • Configure and program PLCs, HMI systems, VFDs, and other automation controls;
  • Install, commission, and validate new instrumentation and control equipment;
  • Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation systems;
  • Diagnose machine breakdowns and coordinate repairs or component replacements;
  • Provide technical support to operators and production teams to improve machine efficiency;
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, transmitters, sensors, meters, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems;
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions;
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency;
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration certificates, and equipment histories;
  • Enforce safe working practices and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations;
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and engineering initiatives; and
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in instrumentation and control systems.

Technical & Behavioral competencies  

  • Instrumentation and control systems experience;
  • PLC controls and programming;
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems experience;
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to interpret wiring schematics and instrument drawings;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
