Job Description

Job Summary:

The Finished Goods (FG) supervisor shall be in charge of managing the movement, storage and distribution of finished goods after they have left the manufacturing line. He/she with the help of store staff, will ensure vehicles are loaded accurately and on time. He/she will organize and maintain inventories in the store and keep it clean.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurate record keeping for all finished products received from packing and for all products being dispatched.
  • Compare the physical inventory in the store with the records of inventory on hand and be accountable for any variances.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entering of data for any inventory transactions.
  • Approve stock transfers on SAP as well as sign off on the stock transfer sheet after confirming the goods being transferred.
  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage.
  • Ensure that trucks are loaded with appropriate documentation including those invoiced and any top-ups.
  • Perform departmental and area housekeeping to ensure space is clear, safe and storage is maximized.
  • Ensure all scheduled outbound deliveries are delivered on time and accurately.
  • Direct inventory movement throughout the warehouse.
  • Communicate any shortage of product in good time to the production and/or packing supervisors to avoid late or short deliveries.
  • Keep track of products which are perishable and ensure oldest products are moved out first – follow FIFO and ensure proper labelling.
  • Issue products for consumption as per requirement to the kitchen staff.
  • Prepare the loading data in the loading sheet for all departments.
  • Ensure only authorized staff enter the store, and keep all doors leading to the FG store locked unless in use.
  • Carry out product replacements for the salesperson(s) as per company policy.
  • Ensure staff safety by following laid out procedures.
  • Any other duties deemed relevant by the management

  QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Secondary School Certificate (C plain and above)
  • Diploma in Stores & Inventory Management, warehousing/ supply chain or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years working in a warehouse setting
  • Preferably previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent mathematical & recording abilities
  • Self-Motivated
  • Keen eye for detail & accuracy
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Unmatched organizational and problem-solving Skills
  • Super team player
  • Accuracy of record keeping
  • Zero inventory variance
  • Customer complaints from not following LIFO
  • SOP compliance
