Job Description

Quality Assurance Officer

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to ensure the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance in our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control & Assurance
  • Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform microbiological and physicochemical analysis of food products to verify safety and quality
  • HACCP & Food Safety Systems
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plans and other food safety management systems (eg. 150 22000, FSSC 22000) Ensure adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GHP (Good Hygiene Practices), and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety regulations (eg. FDA, KEBS, EU, USDA)
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections
  • Process Improvement
  • identify gaps in quality processes and recommend corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Train production staff on quality standards, hygiene practices, and safety protocols.
  • Supplier & Production Audits:
  • Conduct supplier audits to verify raw material quality and safety.
  • Monitor production processes to prevent contamination, cross-contamination, and deviations from quality standards.
  • Incident Management
  • Investigate customer complaints, non-conformities, or quality incidents and implement corrective measures.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in Food Science & Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
  • Proficiency in microbiological and chemical food testing methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (eg. CODEX, BRC, IFS) is a plus

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Proficient in MS Office and quality management software.
