Job Description

We are a Design and Build Construction Company Kenya doing both Commercial and Residential buildings, with over 16 years of actively generating all types of house plans in Kenya. We are a limited liability company duly registered with the National Construction Authority of Kenya (NCA).

Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring value for money while meeting quality standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and financial appraisals of projects.
  • Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Prepare and analyze cost reports, valuations, and progress claims.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts and work schedules with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to verify work progress and adherence to specifications.
  • Manage contract administration, including variations, extensions of time, and final accounts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) Kenya.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a proven track record in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, WinQS) and MS Office.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan construction laws, regulations, and tendering processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
