Job Description

Fanisi is a HR consulting and management company that guides enterprises in setting up management and development of their workforce.

Summary

In view of this we seek to hire a dedicated Marketing & Communications Officer. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the project, engage audiences, and enhance the visibility of our creative entrepreneurs’ stories. This role is crucial in amplifying the impact of the project and ensuring that the stories reach a wide and diverse audience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that align with the project goals.
  • Responsible for content creation , curation and content management.
  • Collaborate with creative entrepreneurs to capture and share their stories in a compelling and authentic manner.
  • Develop and execute a robust social media strategy to increase the project’s online presence
  • Increase social media engagement , monitor and respond to audience interactions on social media.
  • Analyze social media metrics to refine strategies and improve performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Draft and distribute communication briefs, press releases and pitch stories to the media to generate coverage.
  • Organize and coordinate promotional events, workshops, and other outreach activities.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns and communication strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using relevant metrics and analytics.
  • Adjust strategies and tactics based on data-driven insights to optimize campaign performance.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on marketing activities and outcomes to project leadership.

Required Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably with a focus on storytelling or content marketing.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing and communications strategies.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging and compelling content.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in Kenya or East Africa, with knowledge of the local media landscape and cultural context.
  • Experience in projects , with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools is a plus.
  • Passion for storytelling, creativity, and social impact, with a commitment to amplifying the voices of creative entrepreneurs.
