Job Description

PAWA initiative known as (PAWA254) is a Non-Profit established in Kenya in 2010. It is Kenya’s unique art and cultural collaborative hub that houses, fosters and catalyzes creative and community-driven projects for social change

Records Studio Internship

Our  Internship Program is designed to offer hands-on, real-world experience for aspiring music producers looking to develop their skills in a professional studio environment. Interns will work closely with our experienced production team to create high-quality music, refine technical abilities, and gain industry insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Music Production & Recording
  • Overseeing the entire production process, from pre-production to mastering.
  • Collaborating with artists to develop musical concepts, arrangements, and sound direction.
  • Operating studio equipment, including digital audio workstations (DAWs), mixers, and instruments.
  • Mixing & Mastering
  • Ensuring professional sound quality through advanced mixing and mastering techniques
  • Applying effects, equalization, and dynamic processing to enhance recordings.
  • Creative Direction
  • Providing creative input to shape an artist’s sound and style.
  • Studio Management & Equipment Handling
  • Maintaining the functionality and organization of studio equipment.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues related to sound recording and software.
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in music production technology.
  • Collaboration & Networking
  • Liaising with songwriters, instrumentalists, and other producers to create unique productions.
  • Building relationships with artists, labels, and music distribution platforms.
  • Project & Time Management
  • Managing production schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Organizing recording sessions, ensuring efficiency and quality output.

Qualifications

  • A degree/diploma in music production, sound engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in DAWs such as Pro Tools, FL Studio, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Cubase.
  • Strong knowledge of audio recording, mixing, and mastering techniques.
  • Experience working in a professional studio environment.
