Job Description

Avenews provides fast and reliable financing solutions for Kenyan agribusinesses poised for growth, serving as a trusted partner to fuel expansion.

Sales Officer-Kajiado

The Sales Officer’s purpose is to grow our business by acquiring new customers, commercializing existing partnerships, and driving complete, high-quality loan applications.

The Sales Officer acts as the Avenews Ambassador on the ground, representing the brand, engaging customers directly, and executing all field-level sales activities.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, engage and onboard new customers within assigned territories.
  • Convert leads into complete, compliant loan applications.
  • Activate and commercialize partner networks: agro-dealers, distributors, cooperatives, aggregators, etc.
  • Guide customers in preparing accurate documentation and reduce application errors.
  • Execute field ambassador duties during activations, trainings, and market engagements.
  • Track and report pipeline performance, conversion rates, and market insights.
  • Support loan activation and repeat usage initiatives in collaboration with operations teams

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new customers acquired
  • Quality and completeness of applications submitted
  • Number of partner-driven applications
  • Disbursement volumes (new + repeat)
  • Activation rate of approved customers
  • Repeat utilization rate
  • Accuracy/timeliness of pipeline and field reports

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Agribusiness, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of field sales experience in fintech, microfinance, FMCG, distribution or agribusiness.
  • Strong documentation and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to work with CRMs and digital tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and be in the field daily.
