Job Description

Wärtsilä Eastern Africa Limited was established in August 1997 to market and sell power plants and marine Engines in the Eastern Africa Region. (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Eritrea, Rwanda, Seychelles, Ethiopia, Burundi, Republic of Sudan and Republic of South Sudan).

Main Responsibilities:

  • This role is suitable for a talent who likes to have a holistic perspective and responsibility on the commercial deals of Energy Services. For the Africa Region Sales and Sales Support Team, we are looking for a Sales Support Engineer to reinforce our regional team.  You will become part of a diverse team and will be based in Kenya.
  • As a Sales Support Engineer, you support the transactional sales teams, agreement team, and other stakeholders in offer preparation work to achieve defined sales targets. You will ensure that the solutions you propose are functional and fulfill the customer’s requirements.
  • Through this, you will contribute to the growth in the hit rate and sales in the African region. In this position, you will report to the Sales Support Manager.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Generate the sales support calculations, offerings, and proposals of services, including the formulation of technical and commercial documentation.
  • Perform technical assistance to sales and customers.
  • Participate in relevant sales meetings with customers when required.
  • Provide support in identification, and master data management regarding spare parts

What do we expect from you?

  • We are looking for an energetic, ambitious, enthusiastic, and commercial talent with a passion for fixing problems.
  • Knowledge of thermal power plant technology is an asset
  • You have a degree in the relevant technical field combined with a minimum of 2- 3 years of relevant experience in the energy industry or a technical environment.
  • You are customer and supplier-oriented, are self-reliant, and can work independently as well as in an international team.
  • You can handle multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results.
  • You have strong analytical thinking capability and excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written. French would be an advantage
  • You are committed to learning and sharing your knowledge within an international team, contributing actively to relevant change management initiatives.
