Contract Type : 2 Years Contract

Overall Responsibility

  • This position is responsible for providing coordination and support for the advancement of the goals of the Salt Subsector of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers.

  • Timely and accurate reports

The objectives of this job will be met through the following key duties and responsibilities;

Sector Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Engage relevant government agencies, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders, together with KAM, for and on behalf of the sector.
  • Grow the sector by recruiting, developing and retaining members.
  • Facilitate work plans and strategies to advance tenets of the sector
  • Advocate for and lobby identified stakeholders on matters beneficial to the sector
  • Handle the sector specific issues or sector enquiries
  • Create and maintain accurate and timely database and reports of the sector.
  • Organize sector activities and provide secretariat services to the sector;
  • Collect feedback from the industry, community based organizations on the impact of sector activities;
  • Identify, Promote and Execute CSR activities and Strategies for the Salt sector.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Person specification for Sector Officer Job

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a busy advocacy organization
  • Strong and confident communicator.
  • Basic people management skills
