Description:

  • The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst is to attain institutional objectives through the provision of exemplary services to clients, addressing the specific requirements of projects and situations. In this role, the Senior Analyst will take the lead on tasks or work streams within assignments, primarily concentrating on providing technical support to clients across diverse domains. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will offer continuous support and guidance to the staff within their designated area of responsibility, ensuring that they fulfil their roles at a level of quality in alignment with the approaches and frameworks established by MSC. Furthermore, the Senior Analyst will actively assist the New Initiatives Lead in various business development activities.

Detailed Responsibilities –

Business Development:

  • Foster business and practice development to enhance the growth of the climate change consulting practice.
  • Aid in identifying and pursuing business development prospects within climate change consulting and related areas like climate-smart agriculture, green finance, and renewable energy.
  • Engage with potential funders and clients within the climate change and associated segments.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and concepts, as needed on a continuous basis.
  • Create blogs, concept notes, white papers, and focus notes on strategic topics for both external publications and internal use.

Professional Development:

  • Perform “Quality of Delivery”/Feedback assessments following assignment execution as per quality control guidelines.
  • Take responsibility for self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge that contribute value to the organization.

Business Execution:

  • Support the planning and delivery of services on projects and assignments.
  • Execute specified tasks on assignments with utmost diligence, attention to detail, and a focus on quality.
  • Build rapport with various contact points at the client organization to ensure successful assignment execution.
  • Guide staff within their area of responsibility and review deliverables to ensure timeliness and quality.
  • Contribute to the development of MSC’s tool kits.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Possess a Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Climate Studies, Renewable Energy, Environment, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • A post-graduate or Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Proven business development experience.
  • At least three years of experience in consultancy services, with a preference for expertise in climate change, renewable energy, or related sectors.
  • Desirable experience in conducting field-based research and data analysis.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in research, technical assistance, or consultancy projects related to climate change, renewable energy, green finance, climate-smart agriculture, and similar sectors.
  • Proficient in writing reports, developing presentations, research papers, and other technical publications focused on climate change and related thematic areas.
