The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament Cap. 117. The primary mandate of NHC is to play a principal role in the implementation of the Government’s Housing Policies and Programmes.

Job Specification:

Duties and responsibilities will entail:

• Undertaking general and routine servicing of plant and equipment;
• Performing cleaning services for plant and equipment and ensure tidiness of the working environment;
• Collecting, sorting and disposing general workshop/plant waste;
• Ensuring safe custody of cleaning materials, tools and equipment;
• Assisting in preparing and servicing machinery and equipment;
• Moving or carrying office equipment, furniture and ensure orderly arrangement;
• Operating machinery and equipment;
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance of the property equipment and accessories such as elevators, escalators, water pumps, fire equipment and generators;
• Conducting inspection of facilities to identify, confirm and report any maintenance related issues or potential problems for escalation and action;
• Undertaking construction works, repairs and maintenance of building and infrastructure;
• Working with the immediate supervisor to requisition for repairs as required
• Assisting in preparing payment memos for contractors and utility bills;
• Addressing minor tenant complaints;
• Booking outside contractors for repair;
• Acting as the caretaker of the estate;
• Preparing repair and maintenance reports.

Person Specification:

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:-

• At least four (4) years relevant work experience;
• National Trade Test II certificate in the area of specialization or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Fulfils the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
