Senior Associate, Corporate Commercial

Role Overview

  • This senior position involves providing expert legal counsel on corporate commercial matters, leading transaction teams, and mentoring junior staff while maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Qualifications, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of a 2nd class upper Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university
  • Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate
  • At least 5 years post admission experience in a busy law firm
  • Experience advising on commercial law matters including:
  • Contract law and company law
  • Energy, mining, projects and PPPs
  • Capital markets and M&A
  • Employment and regulatory compliance
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements
  • Experience in legal due diligence and corporate transactions
  • Strong knowledge in Data Protection, Cybersecurity, PPPs, and Fintech
  • Excellent negotiation, legal drafting and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Leadership experience with ability to mentor junior staff
