Job Description

KPMG is a professional service company, being one of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, EY and PwC. Seated in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, KPMG employs 174,000 people and has three lines of services: audit, tax, and advisory.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research and analysis on key development-related topics covering climate change, carbon markets, climate finance, circular economy, renewable energy and natural resources management.
  • Actively contribute towards KPMG’s IDAS business initiatives including business development and delivery of client projects.
  • Contribute to developing partnerships with clients and other organizations.
  • Support practice development, capacity building, thematic/sectoral coordination and other initiatives.
  • Any other tasks that shall be assigned to you.

Requirements

Education

  • Must have an environmental/social science related degree from a recognized university.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field including but not limited to Climate Change, Natural Resources Management, Energy, Environmental Economics, Climate Finance, Development Finance or other related topic will be an added advantage.
  • Must have 4 – 6 years’ experience in analytical or programme management work with a regional or international management consultancy firm, non-profit, private sector developer or academic institute working on climate change, carbon markets, renewable energy or natural resources management issues.

Technical skills and competencies

  • Technical skills in one or more of the following topics: carbon footprint/GHG assessment, climate risk assessment, climate policy analysis, carbon markets; climate finance; or energy transition.
  • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills;
  • Understanding of global development issues and key institutions;
  • Experience working in a complex, fast-moving environment and dealing professionally with multiple stakeholders;
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with others inside and outside of the organization.
