Job Description

Educate! works to transform education in Africa to teach youth to solve poverty for themselves and their communities. Educate! provides youth with skills training in leadership, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness along with mentorship to start real businesses at school

Performance Objectives

Staff Recruitment & Contract Management (30%)

  • Facilitate and assist hiring managers in the recruitment of new team members, encompassing the creation of Job Descriptions, advertising, CV screening, coordination of interviews, conducting reference checks, and organizing all recruitment documentation and files.
  • Manage the preparation and execution of contracts and addenda, provide electronic copies of contracts for external financial audits, and ensure signed probationary clauses.
  • Oversee internship applications and coordinate placement processes.
  • Draft and oversee contracts for our frontline teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

HR Admin & Benefits (20%)

  • Secure, track, and/or administer employee benefits including insurance
  • Provide assistance in obtaining and maintaining work authorization for foreign employees when required.
  • Organize and manage employee personnel files, along with other HR and administrative documents.
  • Leave management
  • Managing the staff files and ensuring completeness
  • Initiate HR-related funds requisitions and seek approval from the HR manager and other relevant stakeholders.

Staff Onboarding and Off-boarding (30%)

  • Coordinate onboarding schedules for new teams, ensuring a seamless integration process.
  • Collaborate with the HR manager to establish a check-in schedule for new hires.
  • Coordinate the provision of necessary work tools for new hires, such as HRMIS access.
  • Partner with the HR manager to enhance employee engagement and ensure a positive overall experience for staff.

HR Logistics support (20%)

  • Assist and coordinate both external and internal events for the teams.
  • Handle office errands, including visits to institutions like the NSSF offices to address HR-related matters.
  • Collaborate with operations to oversee the procurement of HR-related items.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in human resources or a related subject.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years of directly working in the HR Department or related field.
  • Passion for recruiting and developing top talent
  • Some experience working in a startup or social enterprise environment strongly preferred.
  • High level of computer literacy: Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
