Senior Manager _ People and Change – Kenya

Position Summary

  • Senior Manager, P&C Consulting leads the delivery of strategic human capital solutions and advisory services to optimize workforce performance. This role serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, driving organizational design, change management, and operational efficiency to align HR strategies with business growth.

Key roles and responsibilities:

Managing Engagements

  • Plan and manage client engagements while providing quality work on the engagement.
  • Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to the engagement team to produce quality deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Manage engagements or projects to consistently achieve specific revenue and profit objectives and deliver designated engagement realization.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables exceed client expectations.
  • Contribute to successful client oral presentations and industry round tables.

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with decision makers at key clients.
  • Contribute to proposal development efforts.
  • Manage engagement risk and project budget.
  • Generate revenue as per the allocated target to meet the team budget.

Team Development

  • Support the development of strong delivery teams, from recruitment, mentoring, on job development and retention.
  • Be valued by colleagues and direct reports as a team player and as a coach.

Personal Development

  • Involvement in community and office initiatives.
  • Contribute to thought leadership via at least three activities e.g. articles and speaking at events.
  • National / local training instructor.
  • Ensure continuous learning through compliance to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

Risk Management

  • Ensure 100% compliance to Quality and Risk Management Policies, Standards and Procedures.
  • Participate in Quality Performance Reviews (QPR).

Practice Management

  • Be responsible for WIP management.
  • Ensure fees are billed in line with project milestone in engagement letters.
  • Drive accurate projections.
  • Leverage on client relationship and work with team members to ensure collections are done in line with agreed timelines.
  • Ensure projects are accurately priced to minimize write offs.
  • Ensure delivery teams are appropriately supervised, coached and supported to ensure no write off.

Academic/ Professional qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources Management, or related relevant degree.
  • Must have Professional certifications/Membership – IHRM, SPHRi, PROSCI, Digital HR etc.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in management consulting.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record of various HR solutions with Subject Matter expertise in minimum 3 key solutions e.g.; Change Management, Target Operating Model (TOM) design, Strategic Workforce Planning, Leadership Development, Organisation Design, Digital HR etc
  • Hands-on experience of financial budgeting, planning and managing
  • Demonstrated track record of quality work, project management and productive team interactions.

  • Commercial & Leadership Skills: Proven ability to drive revenue growth, lead complex proposal development, manage profitable client engagements, advise C-suite executives, oversee strategic client portfolios, and leverage strong commercial acumen and networking capabilities to deliver business growth.
  • Market Intelligence: Demonstrate commercial awareness with sound knowledge of matters affecting the market.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing business growth strategies that drive revenue, market expansion, and sustainable organizational success.
  • Financial Management Skills: Proven experience in financial budgeting, forecasting, planning, and management,
  • Enthusiastic approach to work, coupled with strong management and supervisory capabilities.
  • Compliant with the KPMG Code of Conduct, independence requirements, firm policies, and professional practice standards.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, report writing, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credible relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and client environments.
  • Demonstrates resilience and tenacity, maintaining commitment and effectiveness in demanding situations.
  • Pragmatic Problem-Solving Skills: ability to handle and resolve unstructured problems and provide effective solutions.
  • Engagement Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple consulting engagements simultaneously, delivering high-quality outcomes while balancing client expectations and timelines.
  • Operates effectively in multicultural environments and promotes diversity and inclusion.
