Job Purpose Statement

The role is responsible for ensuring Preparation, review and submission of Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) reports and publications, Capital Markets Authority (CMA) reports, Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), Kenya deposit insurance corporation (KDIC) as required by the different stakeholders. Additionally, this role manages the regulatory engagements to maintain a good working relationship with the regulator as far as financial reporting is concerned

The role supports the Group Head of Reporting & Planning through enhancing the quality of financial discipline, planning, controls, regulatory reporting, financial reporting, provision of financial advice and support to the subsidiaries CEO’s and their leadership teams by preparation of quality and timely reports. This role provides day-to-day business partnership to Kenya subsidiaries.

The role is responsible for supporting   the Group Head of Reporting & Planning effectively manage the systems that produce financial information for Kenyan subsidiaries (Capital, Brokerage, Insurance and Leasing)

The role is also responsible for staff management within the department by putting in place proper leave management schedules, identification of staff training needs and performance management process, which includes setting smart targets, semi-and annual reviews and adequate resourcing.

The role participates in implementation and entrenchment of financial controls culture, policies, tools, processes and procedures that ensure internal efficient and effective preparation and dissemination of financial information for management decision making. The role cuts across financial control, financial planning and regulatory reporting for the Kenyan subsidiaries

Ideal Job Specifications

Academic:

  • University degree in business related studies or equivalent.
  • MBA is an added advantage.

Professional:

  • CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification

Desired work experience:

  • Ten years’ post-qualification (accounting) experience in a medium to large corporate organization.
  • Five years’ work experience in middle management role.
  • People management experience
  • Practical experience in use of relevant MS Office applications.
  • Competence in the use of SAP, SAP BODs, SAP BPC and T24.
