The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. 265 of 1986 as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.

Job Specification

Duties at this level will include:

• Initiating production plans and activities;
• Maintaining of records of resources allocated to employees;
• Verifying the records of green tea received and processed;
• Confirming the quality and analysis of tea received;
• Ensuring the schedule of duties for production is done;
• Confirming the recording and dispatching of packed tea; and Ensuring that the food and safety standards and regulations are adhered to.

Person Specifications

• For appointment to this grade an officer must have:
• A minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been as a Production Officer I, Job grade NTZ 7, or a comparable position in the private or public sector;
• Bachelor’s degree in food science or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Supervisory course lasting not less than (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
• Proficiency in computer application ;
