Job Description

Atlas Copco is a world-leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions. The Group serves customers with innovative compressors, vacuum solutions and air treatment systems, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems.

Mission

This position will be charged with coordinating the safety, health, environment & quality matters in the company and ensuring that the company maintains the ISO 9001;2015, ISO 14001;2015 and ISO 45001; 2018 standards. The position reports to the HR, Administration & SHEQ Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a risk assessment and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure all safety requirements are adhered to by all employees and Atlas Copco partners
  • Close project gaps with our piston compressor customers
  • Check for workplace adherence to the Occupational, Health and Safety Act (OHS Act 2007)
  • Check that the integrated certified management system fulfills ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and review of manuals, procedures and work instructions.
  • Review and monitor compliance to quality management systems requirements as per standards and organization procedures
  • Advise and support management to ensure that procedures and policies are implemented, operating effectively and that all personnel are fully engaged and trained in the processes
  • Track and report KPI’s as required by the Group
  • Ensure compliance with annual statutory inspections including plant inspection, OSH audits, Fire audits, medical examinations and NEMA audits
  • Ensure compliance with statutory employee training programs – Health and Safety Committee, First Aiders, Fire Marshals and Internal Auditors
  • Check that objectives and targets are in line with the Group goals
  • Implement programs for tracking utilities consumption – energy and water
  • Implement systems for waste management, recycling and sustainability initiatives including circular economy and industrial symbiosis programs for waste management.
  • Conduct awareness, safety induction trainings and other trainings of staff on need basis.
  • Maintenance of tracking tools for incidents, accidents, near misses, unsafe actions, fire incidences, environmental, security incidences and reporting carrying out trend analysis and monitoring. Sharing reports with staff and management on monthly basis for review and preventive actions implementation.
  • Reporting and Carrying out root cause analysis for all incidents and accidents within the organization and implementation of mitigation measures
  • Closure of all non-conformities reported during internal and external audits and implementation of preventive measures
  • Communicating results of all audit findings both internal and external to management and implementation of corrective measures requested.
  • Train technical staff to ensure compliance to risk assessment tools, permit to work model and lototo programs when executing their duties in the field

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience 

  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Internal audit in ISO Standards
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Good organization and teamwork abilities
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with stakeholders

Educational Requirements

  • University degree in relevant field
  • Safety, Health, Quality certifications

Personality Requirements

  • Strong planning, organizational skills and ability to think on their feet
  • Innovative in nature and able to take initiatives
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and pressure
  • Must be self-driven
