Job Description

Summary

Performs Simulator Maintenance to high safety and operational standards as required by KQ, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority and other Aviation safety regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities    

  • Perform software integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated hardware.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks on the simulators, UPS and associated hardware.
  • Perform tasks to support the KQ simulator group as required.
  • Utilize Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Perform preflight and post flight on designated simulators.
  • Perform basic visual alignments.
  • Run and analyse automatic and manual qualification tests (QTGs) on the simulators.
  • Support refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Inculcating safety culture in Kenya Airways within the simulator and simulator facility
  • Communicates simulator facility state and needs to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the processes by recommending solutions, writing technical sections.

Job Requirements        

  • University Degree in Electrical/ Electronic, Telecommunication, Computer or Mechatronic Engineering
  • Good knowledge of computer systems architecture.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Minimum one year experience

Additional Details        

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly skills like crimping, stripping, cable routing, staking, splicing, marking, labeling, soldering and circuit board repairs. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, parts lists, wire lists and system prints
  • Knowledge of MS-Office tools and suite
  • Ability to lift at least 25kgs
  • Ability to work/ move in confined spaces and heights
  • Work flexibly within an agreed shift pattern to include early starts, late finishes, weekends and public holidays usually on a 24/7 shift.
