Job Purpose:

The Social Media and Marketing Coordinator at The Boon Tree will strategically curate and amplify our brand presence across various digital platforms, with a primary focus on social media. The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in implementing dynamic and engaging marketing campaigns, fostering community interaction, and promoting wellness events and vendor partnerships. By leveraging creativity and a deep understanding of social media trends, this role aims to elevate The Boon Tree’s visibility, attract vendors, and engage users, contributing significantly to the overall mission of transforming the African wellness market into a vibrant and interconnected community. Success in this role directly influences brand perception, user engagement, and the growth of The Boon Tree platform.

Responsibilities:

Social Media Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with The Boon Tree’s brand voice and marketing goals.
  • Create engaging and shareable content across various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest.

Content Creation:

  • Generate visually appealing and compelling content, including graphics, videos, and written copy.
  • Coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, and content creators to ensure a consistent and appealing visual presence.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster and engage with The Boon Tree community through social media interactions.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions to maintain a positive and active online presence.

Partnership Development:

  • Explore and establish partnerships with relevant brands, organizations, and influencers to cross-promote and enhance market presence.
  • Negotiate and execute mutually beneficial marketing collaborations.

Advertising Campaigns:

  • Plan and execute targeted social media advertising campaigns to increase brand visibility, attract vendors, and drive user engagement.
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies for optimal results.

Email Marketing:

  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to engage current and potential users.
  • Craft compelling newsletters, updates, and promotional emails.

Offline Marketing:

  • Collaborate with offline channels for promotional activities, including collaborations with , sponsorships, and participation in relevant events.
  • Design and distribute physical marketing materials as neede

Collaboration with Sales Team:

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Specialist to create promotional materials and campaigns to support vendor acquisition efforts.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all marketing channels.

Social Media Trends and Analytics:

  • Stay informed about social media trends and algorithm changes.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track and analyze performance metrics, providing insights for continuous improvement.

Influencer and Partnership Outreach:

  • Identify and engage potential influencers and brand ambassadors to amplify The Boon Tree’s reach.
  • Explore partnership opportunities with other wellness and lifestyle brands.

Event Promotion:

  • Plan and execute marketing strategies to promote wellness events, product launches, and vendor collaborations.
  • Coordinate event logistics and ensure comprehensive pre- and post-event marketing.
  • Live coverage and engagement during events, fostering real-time interaction.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Specialist, Content Team, and other departments to align social media efforts with overall marketing strategies.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on social media performance, user engagement, and the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Provide recommendations based on data analysis.

Skills, Abilities And Personal Qualities

  • Proven experience in social media management and marketing.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills for creating compelling and concise copy.
  • Strong creative and visual skills.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for wellness and/or a keen understanding of market dynamics.
