Software Support Engineer duties and responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance with computer software
• Resolve issues for customers via phone, in-person, or remotely
• Log bugs and enhancement requests
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of RDBMS
• Perform software installations, configurations, and updates as needed
• Provide training
• Resolve technical issues in a timely manner and in accordance with the SLA

Software Support requirements and skills

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field from a recognized institution
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking skills, and data analytical skills.
• Previous experience in software support for 5 years, MUST be with retail point-of-sale software(s) with finance and accounting modules.
• Demonstrable Strong knowledge of RDBMS ( MSSQL, MSSQL, Postgres, Mysql)
• Knowledge of IPv4 networking.
• Knowledge of Reporting tools such as crystal and jasper reports is a plus
• A clear understanding of the Software development life Cycle.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 7,10,11, server Operating systems
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix OS is desired but not a requirement.
