Jubilee Insurance was established in August 1937, as the first locally incorporated Insurance Company based in Mombasa in 1937. Jubilee Insurance has spread its sphere of influence throughout the region to become the largest Composite insurer in East Africa, handling Life, Pensions, general and Medical insurance.

Solutions Architect

Role Purpose

The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions that support Jubilee Asset Management’s business objectives, particularly in investment operations, client servicing, and regulatory compliance. This role plays a critical part in aligning business requirements with technical capabilities by creating scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures. The Solutions Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead the development and integration of systems, optimize digital platforms, and support the organization’s innovation and digital transformation agenda. The role also ensures all solutions comply with enterprise standards, governance frameworks, and industry best practices

Main Responsibilities
Strategy

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into solution architecture strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s digital and IT strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with evolving asset management trends.
  • Drive technology innovation to support client experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Operational

  • Design and document end-to-end solution architectures that support business requirements and adhere to enterprise architecture standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks to support scalability, performance, and security.
  • Ensure integration and interoperability of systems across front, middle, and back-office functions.
  • Estimate costs and evaluate return on investment for proposed technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT, development teams, vendors, and business users during implementation and roll-out phases.
  • Maintain documentation of current and future-state architecture.

Corporate Governance

  • Ensure that solution designs adhere to data protection, cybersecurity, and compliance standards applicable to the financial services sector.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with system design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Perform regular architecture reviews and quality assurance audits

People & Culture

  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in technology adoption and use.

Qualifications

Academic Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  •  Professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Architect)

Functional Skills:

  • Enterprise and solution architecture design
  • Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Systems integration and API development
  • Data modeling and database design
  • Cybersecurity and risk management
  • Financial systems architecture (e.g., core investment systems, CRM, and reporting tools)
  • Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Vendor and stakeholder management

Relevant Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in IT architecture, with at least 2 years focused on financial or investment systems
  •  Proven experience in designing enterprise-grade solutions in the asset management or financial services industry
  •  Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation or systems integration initiatives
  • Experience in designing micro-services architecture
