Job Description

PFL is a member of Industrial Promotion Services (K) Ltd (IPS) group of companies, which is the industrial and infrastructure arm of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), an international development agency dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and building economically sound enterprises in sub-Saharan Africa as well as Central and Southern Asia.

Summary

We are looking to hire a Stock Controller who will be based in Ruaraka, Nairobi County.

Reporting to the Warehouse Controller, the Stock Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and  efficient inventory operations by ensuring real time posting and receiving finished goods from production, stock  reconciliation by recording the in and out of stock items, inventory tracking, flagging out slow moving and near  expiry  stocks.  Preparation  of  dispatch  report,  maintain  records  of  all  market  returns  and  returns  from  the  warehouse to production for reprocess, coordinating stock transfers, creating monthly stock reports accurately.

Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities for this position entails: –

  •  Ensure  accurate  and  up-to-date  information on quantities,  locations,  and  product details  by segregating stocks  meant for export, local market and stocks held for reprocess.
  •  Collaborate with production teams to plan for replenishment of finished goods produced and available in the production floor.
  •  Participate in quality control checks to ensure that finished goods meet established quality standards such as well shrink wrapped and placed in standard pallets before transferring them from production floor and also at the point of loading.
  •  Maintained standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.
  •  Assist in analyzing historical sales data to forecast demand for finished products.
  •  Contribute insights to optimize inventory levels and prevent overstocking or stock outs.
  •  Participate  in  daily,  weekly  and  monthly  physical  inventory  counts  to  verify  the  accuracy  of  recorded quantities.
  •  Investigating, addressing and escalating any stock discrepancies.
  •  Maintain accurate records of all inventory-related activities, including receipts, transfers, and shipments.
  •  Collaborate  with  various  teams  such  as  production,  warehouse,  sales  and  finance  to  ensure  smooth inventory operations.
  •  Communicate stock availability through daily stock report.
  •  Monitor all the transactions and ensure both physical and system transactions correspond.
  •  Monitor product quality in store and ensure proper handling during storage and loading.
  •  Prepare stock holding report on daily basis giving insights on the stock balances including expiries.
  •  5S- Work area arrangement and sanitation.
  •  Reconciling market returns received against approved GRN before receiving in the system

 The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: – 

  •  Degree in Finance, operational management, supply chain management or a related field.
  •  Accounting packages – quick books, sage or pastel
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP system knowledge.
  •  Proficient in MS Excel.
