Plant Operator III (Bаскное)
Duties and responsibilities
- This is the entry and training grade for plant operators. Duties and responsibilities will entail operating machines of difficult rating’ C; assisting machine attendance in identifying possible breakdowns; liaising with machines for servicing making daily and weekly oil checks and maintaining the cleanliness of the plant
Requirements for appointment;
- Have a Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE) mean grade “D” plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Have passed the suitability test for plant operator III;
- Possess a valid driving license free from any current endorsement for the relevant class(es) of plant;
- Be able to operate at least two (2) plants of ‘difficult’ rating ‘C’; and
- Attended a first aid certificate course lasting not less than 1 week from St. John ambulance or KIHВТ.
Managing Director – Makueni Rural Water Board (Maruwab)
The Managing Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to Makueni Rural Water Board (MARUWAB), positioning it for rapid growth and leading cultural transformation. The person appointed shall head the management team and shall oversee the board’s day-to-day functions and operations. (S)He will ensure implementation of the Boards’ decisions as well as establish long term goals, strategies, plans and policies that are aimed at improving performance, service delivery, attaining growth and improving operational efficiencу.
Requirements for appointment;
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in Engineering (Civil or Water) or Finance or Economics, or Business Management, Environmental science or other Social Sciences;
- A Master’s degree or higher qualification will be an added advantage;
- Experience in management of public/private entities for a period of not less than five (5) years;

- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will be on-the-job training and will work under the supervision of an experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail: simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances and assisting during emergency cases.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must:
- Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade ‘D’ or its equivalent.
- Firefighter III certificate or fire management level 3 certificate from a recognized Training school/Institution;
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Buildings Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution
- Be physically fit;
- Be certified medically fit by a Government doctor; and
- A valid Police Clearance by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
Fire Engine Driver
Duties and Responsibilities;
This is the entry and training grade into the Drivers cadre. Duties and responsibilities will involve:- driving a motor vehicle as authorized, carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure, etc; detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems; maintenance of work tickets assigned; ensuring security of the vehicle on and off the road; safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
Requirements for Appointment;
For appointment to this grade, a candidate to this grade must have: –
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- A valid driving licence (Class BCE) free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle(s) an officer is required to drive;
- Attended a pump operator or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) from a recognized institution
- Attended a First Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week at St John Ambulance or Kenya Insitute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
- Passed Suitability Test for Driver Grade III;
- Passed Practical Test for Drivers conducted by the respective ministry/department;
- A valid Police Clearance by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI); and
- At least two (2) years driving experience with at least one year with an emergency vehicle.
- Candidates who have attended a fire management/firefighting technology course will have an added advantage.
Enforcement Constable
Duties and Responsibilities This is the entry and training grade for the county enforcement service officers. Personnel at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will entail: – Investigate, apprehend offenders of county laws, sentry duty, performing guard duties, partaking in the morning parade, screening of persons entering public places, undertake crowd control and coverage duties, maintaining daily signal logbook, driving of government vehicle and motorcycles, Carrying out regular patrols in the parking areas to ensure orderly parking and traffic management; hoist the national and county government flags, Protection of county government properties and premises; enforce revenue collection, laws and other regulations, Maintain law and order in trading centres; and Protection of VIPs.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification recognized in Kenya;
- Be between the ages of 18 and 29 years;
- Physical fitness as applicable to disciplined services plus a fitness medical certificate from a recognized institution;
- Certificate from the National Police Training Institution or the National Youth Service recruit training school or any other approved paramilitary training Institution;
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity and Article 232 on values and Principles of Public Service.
Superintending Engineer
Requirements for appointment
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (EВK);
- Current valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration board of Kenya;
- Member with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK);
- Attended a Project Development and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks; and
- Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the engineering field (Civil).
Senior Physical Planner
Requirements for appointment
- Must be a Kenyan citizen;
- Have a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience;
- Have a bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution; and
- Must be a member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planner Chapter).
Land Survey Assistant III
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Carrying out angular and distance measurements;
- Computation for small density topographical;
- Site engineering;
- General boundary and;
- Photo control surveys.
Requirements for appointment
- Must be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Diploma in land surveying its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
- Membership to Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) or its equivalent.
