Director, Commercial Frontline, Angola & HIMA
KEY WORKING PARAMETERS
- The key Commercial Partner for the Franchise & Bottling System in the Franchise. Lead the integration of the Commercial Strategy & Levers into our End-to-End process, plans and strategies within the Franchise to deliver joint System Value. Being the key Commercial System protagonist and partner driving transformative strategic commercial thought leadership. Key partner with Marketing to ensure commercial integration into marketing plans.
Focus, Scope, & Impact:
- Lead & drive the integrated Commercial agenda in the Franchise & Bottling system, ensuring End-to-End Integration.
- Build & Develop the Commercial ABP for the Franchise, partnering together with Franchise & Bottler to build out the detailed support plans
- Prioritize the Commercial Priorities by Quarter in the Franchise
- Drive the right BBM model for the Franchise, ensuring the right pack architecture is in place, adapting based on market dynamics, leveraging the “on Demand Hub” to deliver impactful scenarios & solutions
- Be the Commercial Thought Leader and Integrator for the Franchise, act as ‘The Right Hand’ person to the Franchise GM.
- Recruit the right resources to address the identified priorities from the “On Demand Hub” (Affordability, Premium, Channel, RGM X, RTM & Digital)
- Provide Commercial input and approval of all Marketing Campaigns & Picture of Success and ensure integration into the marketing plans & processes.
- Provide commercial input in the various Commercial Strategies (ABC of Execution, Affordability, Premium) to ensure strategies and plans are right for the market.

Deliverables
- Lead & Implement the Commercial Strategy for the market – ABP.
- Drive the Commercial Agenda in the Franchise/Market
- Deliver prioritized commercial priorities by quarter & ensure the right resources are in place to have impact in the market end to end.

Communication Focus
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and key Customers and Bottling partners at Senior Levels

Experience
- 10-12+ years of leadership experience in Commercial with strong skills in Commercial and Channel Strategy, Revenue growth management, Segmentation, Route to market, Negotiation etc.
- Proven track record of execution excellence
- Proven strategic and analytical skills as well as outstanding interpersonal, communication and influencing abilities.
- Desirable to have candidates with Bottling System/Franchise and/or Commercial experience.
Technical Operator
Key Purpose Statement
- The primary role of the technical operator is the operations of the process area according to work instructions, execution of destructive or non-destructive quality checks, and carrying out of autonomous maintenance. The process operator has a primary focus on the quality control activities of the team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operation and Process Control
- Operating in the process area according to the work instructions and adhering to usage standards.
- Carrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analysis work practice.
- Recording waste on the appropriate documentation or information systems, and reviewing waste trends to identify and resolving problems or opportunities timeously.
- Constantly reviewing process performance against target, and completing all short interval control documentation.
- Resolving out of control situations.
- Responding rapidly to upstream or downstream triggers that result in stoppages. Appropriate problem solving approaches, as detailed in the problem solving work practice must be followed.
- Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices.
- Identifying and correcting unsafe work practices.
- Carrying out flavour and size changeovers according to the work instructions.
- Assisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasks.
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
- Carrying out deep cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the maintenance planner.
- Carrying out autonomous maintenance activities according to the work instructions, and following the maintenance schedule.
- Conducting breakdown maintenance tasks.
- Supporting the process artisan in carrying out maintenance on shift.
- Quality Control and Analysis
- Carrying out quality checks and analysis as per the quality procedures.
- Recording the results of quality checks on the relevant documentation or information system.
- Calibrating required quality control equipment according to work instruction and requesting assistance from the core lab where required.
- Conducting trends analysis on quality data to identify problems and opportunities timeously.
- Identifying and correcting identified quality problems using the appropriate techniques.
Communication
- Communicate effectively in the work place.
- Actively participating in shift meetings, asking questions and contributing suggestions.
- Making use of the gap list to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities.
- Fully understanding the team goals and participating in team goal review sessions.
- Making use of relevant communication media e.g. shift handover books to stay informed and inform others of issues.
Problem Solving
- Applying the appropriate situational problem solving techniques e.g. 5Why, quick fix routines, OPL’s, one point lessons etc. to identify and correct the problem.
- Where the process operator is unable to resolve the problem, involve fellow team members or escalate to the team leader or process artisan if necessary.
- Providing information for and participate in situational and systemic problem solving as required.
- Where problems have been resolved, verifying that the problems have been eliminated.
Continuous Improvement
- Using run, control charts and trend analysis to identify sources of waste and variation in the process.
- Using short stop analysis, pareto charts and other tools, seeking to identify opportunities to simplify activities.
- Where improvement opportunities have been identified, these must be recorded on the team gap list and involve other team members in evaluating opportunities and call in specialist resources to assist if required.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years relevant technical experience in an FMCG environment and adequate experience in machine operations.
- Basic mechanical understanding and ability to conduct routine machine care.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and quality standards is desirable.
- Ability to work shifts in a fast-paced production environment.
Knowledge
- All aspects of packaging operations and process controls
Security Specialist
Key Purpose Statement
- The Security specialist will be responsible for developing/maintaining proactive security strategies to protect the company, employees and assets by identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining Security Processes, Protocols and Programs to reduce risk, respond to incidents, and limit exposure. The scope of this role includes overseeing the physical security and safety of employees and facilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key Outputs and Accountabilities include, but not limited to:
- Coordination and management of implemented security measures on a day-to-day basis, including the assignment of guards, working in close cooperation with Competency and Capability Heads and Third-Party Service Providers.
- Loss Control: Proactively provide commercial and pragmatic security advice and solutions to the Country Management to set policy and standards and manage security programs.
- Conducting Risk Assessment Programs and Security Audits on a regular basis to assess the organization’s security position with a view of instituting improvements where necessary.
- Coordination and management of outer and inner layers of protection.
- Coordination and management of the physical security of all facilities and personnel in the business including conducting security vulnerability assessments.
- Coordination and management of Access Control systems and other employee and residents identification systems in place.
- Creating, and driving proactive security programs, with stakeholders, to ensure the continued safe and effective operations of the company.
- Having a comprehensive understanding of all the business and the risks and producing a resultant security risk assessment.
- Communicating the risks to the Senior Management and provide appropriate advice.

Minimum requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree, with postgraduate qualification, or equivalent.

Experience
- 8-10 years’ experience in Security operations and management with a minimum of 4 years at a senior level within an FMCG environment preferably.

Artisan Process Electrical
Key Purpose Statement
- The primary role of the Artisan Process Electrical is operation of the process area according to work instructions, the execution of non-destructive quality checks and carrying out of routine maintenance. The process artisan has a primary focus on the asset care activities of the team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Providing support to the shift based teams during operations.
- Attending SBT and SBU meetings and ensures that the previous day’s actions have been actioned.
- Assisting shift based teams with situational problem solving.
- Coaching the shift based teams on machine operation, machine fault finding and correct responses to machine failure modes.
- Providing coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer of machine operation and maintenance to shift based teams.
- Reviewing SIC’s and address deviations regularly.
- Developing work instructions related to equipment.
- Monitoring and managing performance of equipment.
- Verifying and ensuring that machines are running at rated speed.
- Preparing and communicating shift handover reports to ensure production continuity.
- Participating in technical meetings and escalating issues that could not be resolved during the shift and following up to ensure gap closure.
- Standing in for the Production Team Leader where required.
Planned Maintenance
- Carrying out work during the planned maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Planner.
- Assisting fellow team members in the execution of their tasks during planned maintenance windows.
- Where required, partaking in maintenance post mortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learning’s from maintenance activities.
- Optimising of the maintenance schedules.
- Coaching and training operators on autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Reviewing line KPI’s to ensure that maintenance work is yielding the right results.
Routine Maintenance
- Partaking in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner.
- Carrying out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
- Where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance, these must be resolved using the appropriate problem solving techniques.
- Where problems have been uncovered, and it is required to include the work in the planned maintenance schedule, this must be communicated to the maintenance planner.
- Running Repairs
- Carrying out running repairs on plant and equipment.
- When carrying out repairs, assess the problem and determine a course of action.
- Where running repairs cannot be carried out, communicates this to the Team Leader / Maintenance Planner to ensure the work is planned into the next planned maintenance window.
Problem Solving
- Applying the correct problem solving methodologies to resolve problems.
- Coaching operators on situational problem solving.
- Soliciting support for problems solving or escalate to the Team for direction.
- Where required, partake in systemic problem solving.
Housekeeping and safety
- Working in a safe manner at all times, and to identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected.
- Adhering to appropriate CCBA policies and procedures.
- Carrying out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of duties.
- Support NPD implementation and trials:
- Supporting NPD trials to be able to run on assets.
- Ensuring adherence to NPD procedures.
- Ensuring all changes on assets are well documented as per the Engineering Change Management business processes.
Training and Development
- Training and coaching operators on asset care and autonomous maintenance practices.
- Where required; signing-off operators on autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Developing operational and technical standards and work instructions.

Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years in an FMCG, bottling or food processing plant.
- PLC experience will be an added advantage.
Specific Experience

Knowledge
