Communications Lead
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Communications Strategy and Planning
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive programme communications strategy aligned with donor and organisational requirements
- Ensure consistent messaging, branding, and positioning across all internal and external communication products
- Align communications planning with programme milestones, learning agendas, and reporting cycles
- Content Development and Knowledge Translation
- Produce and oversee high-quality communication products including case studies, success stories, briefs, newsletters, and digital content
- Translate technical programme results, data, and learning into accessible, audience-appropriate messaging
- Work closely with the MEAL team to ensure evidence-based storytelling and accuracy
- Donor Visibility, Branding, and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with donor visibility, branding, and acknowledgement guidelines across all communication outputs
- Support donor reporting and reviews through visual documentation, human-interest stories, and communication annexes
- Maintain accurate records of donor visibility and attribution compliance
- Media, Digital Platforms, and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage relationships with media houses, communications consultants, and digital content partners
- Oversee programme digital platforms including website updates and social media channels
- Support communications for stakeholder forums, B2B events, exposure visits, and learning convenings
- Internal Communications and Coordination
- Strengthen internal communication across programme teams and partners
- Support documentation and dissemination of programme knowledge, learning, and innovations
Required Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Development Communication, or a related field from a recognized institution
Professional Certification
- Certification in strategic communications, digital media, or development communications is an added advantage
Required Experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive professional experience in communications roles
- Demonstrated senior-level experience supporting donor-funded or development programmes
- Proven experience leading communications strategy, donor visibility, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in youth development, entrepreneurship, or private sector development programmes is an added advantage
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Lead
Key Duties and Responsibilities
MEAL Framework Design and Strategic Oversight
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the programme’s MEAL framework, including theory of change, results framework, indicators, baselines, targets, and learning agenda
- Ensure alignment of the MEAL system with donor Results-Based Management (RBM) requirements and organisational standards
- Provide strategic oversight to ensure measurement of outputs, outcomes, impact, behavioural change, and enterprise performanc
Data Collection, Management, and Quality Assurance
- Design and oversee quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies, tools, and protocols
- Establish and enforce data quality assurance mechanisms, including routine verification, validation, and audits
- Oversee digital and manual MEAL databases, dashboards, and tracking systems across programme components
- Ensure ethical data collection, data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding compliance
Monitoring, Reporting, and Accountability
- Lead routine monitoring of programme implementation, including field monitoring visits and partner performance assessments
- Prepare and quality-assure high-quality donor reports (quarterly, annual, and ad hoc), ensuring accuracy, analysis, and compliance
- Establish and manage accountability mechanisms, including beneficiary feedback and complaints response systems

Strategic Planning and Sustainability

Required Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field from a recognized institution
Professional Certification
- Formal certification or advanced training in Monitoring and Evaluation, Results-Based Management, or data analytics is an added advantage
Required Experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive professional experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning roles
- Demonstrated senior-level experience leading MEAL systems for complex, donor-funded, multi-partner programmes

Finance Officer
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations and Transaction Processing
- Process all approved payments, including supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, per diems, and statutory payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and post accounting entries in the accounting system, ensuring correct coding by project, donor, and budget line.
- Manage petty cash and field advances, including issuance, tracking, reconciliation, and retirement.
- Maintain up-to-date records for accounts payable and receivable.
- Support bank transactions, including preparation of payment schedules and bank instructions as delegated.
Program Financial Support
- Support the Program Financial Accountant in tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.
- Assist in preparing project level financial schedules and supporting documents for donor reports.
- Review payment requests from program teams to ensure compliance with budgets, donor rules, and internal controls before processing.
- Monitor burn rates and flag variances, anomalies, or potential budget overruns to the Program Financial Accountant.
- Support financial planning for trainings, workshops, and field activities including cost verification and documentation.
Financial Controls, Compliance, and Documentation
- Ensure all financial transactions are fully supported with complete, accurate, and properly approved documentation.
- Maintain organized and auditable financial records, both physical and digital, in line with donor and organizational requirements.
- Support compliance with donor regulations, including, foundations, and other institutional donors as applicable.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, including retrieval of documents and audit schedules.
- Ensure adherence to EAMDA’s financial policies, procedures, and delegation of authority matrix.
Reconciliations and Financial Monitoring
- Perform regular bank, petty cash, and mobile money reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close processes by preparing schedules and reconciliations.
- Track outstanding advances, payables, and receivables, and follow up for timely resolution.
- Assist in maintaining fixed asset registers and tracking asset movements.
Statutory and Tax Compliance
- Support preparation and filing of statutory returns, including PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, withholding tax, and VAT where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and timely submission of statutory payments and documentation.
- Maintain statutory records and support statutory audits or inspections as required.
Coordination and Internal Support
- Work closely with program teams to support budget understanding, cost eligibility, and financial documentation requirements.
- Liaise with procurement and administration staff to ensure alignment between procurement processes and financial controls.
- Provide financial information and clarifications to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, and controls.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
Professional Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA K-Finalist)
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within an NGO, donor-funded project, or development organization.
- Demonstrated experience supporting project-based financial management and donor compliance.
- Experience working with accounting software and Excel-based financial tracking tools.
