Job Description

Hotpoint Appliances Ltd was established in 1984. Its first store was located in the Sarit Centre shopping mall in Nairobi. In late 1990s Hotpoint was awarded the Sole Distributorship Agency for LG Electronics. Later on, it went on to acquire agencies for other global brands including Ariston, Westpoint and Kenwood.

Loss Control Officer- Mombasa

Job Purpose

  • To enforce security policies, procedures and regulations in order to secure company property and ensure safety to employees and business partners.

Job Responsibility and Accountability

  • Maintain vigilant observation of staff movement, customer activity, and company property to prevent unauthorized actions or loss.
  • Monitor surveillance feeds and provide recorded footage (\”flashbacks\”) for review as requested by management.
  • Lead and support contracted security personnel in managing visitor access to the offices and showroom.
  • Enforce established security protocols to safeguard all company assets and minimize the risk of theft or damage.
  • Inspect all outbound goods to ensure they are accurately charged, authorized, and supported by correct documentation.
  • Reconcile physical gate passes against supporting documents to ensure absolute accuracy for all exiting items.
  • Physically verify all returned goods to ensure the items received match the details listed in the accompanying paperwork.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized removal of company assets or property.
  • Verification of all physical items intended for dispatch or received against approved supporting documentation provided.
  • Conduct routine checks of bags, packages, and vehicles as per company policy.
  • Observe customer and employee behaviours for suspicious activities that may indicate theft or fraud.
  • Assist in reviewing CCTV footage for evidence of loss incidents.
  • Participate in inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage.
  • Report any observed or suspected loss incidents to the supervising Security Officer immediately.
  • Help implement loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Provide a visible security presence to deter potential dishonest acts.
  • Assist in documenting and preparing reports on loss incidents.
  • Support security officers in investigations related to theft or fraud.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Manager as and when required.

Qualification

  • Minimum of a Diploma in a relevant security related field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct.

 

Retail Projects and Facilities Supervisor

Job Purpose

  • To oversee the day-to-day coordination of retail projects, facilities maintenance activities, and technical operations across all retail outlets.
  • The role ensures that maintenance works,repairs, surveys, andsmall refurbishment projects are executed efficiently and according to company standards, while supporting the Retail Project Manager in the execution of major retail projects including new showroom setups and large-scale renovations.

Job Responsibility and Accountability

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities for retail projects, including minor refurbishments, upgrades and maintenance works.
  • Assist in coordinating major projects such as new showroom setups and major renovations.
  • Track project timelines and ensure contractors and internal teamsadhere to agreedschedules.
  • Follow up with contractors and service providers to ensure timelycompletion of assigned tasks.
  • Maintain documentation of project progress and provide regular updates to the Retail ProjectManager.
  • Oversee maintenance andrepair works acrossall retail outlets to ensure storesare maintained to company standards.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of maintenance issuesreported by retailteams.
  • Monitor the performance and quality of external serviceproviders and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams to coordinate showroom upgrades, branding works, and displaychanges.
  • Coordinate installation activities and ensure compliance with Hotpoint technical and safety standards.
  • Ensure all retailoutlets maintain operational readiness in termsof infrastructure, equipment and displays.
  • Prepare periodic operational reports summarizing maintenance status, ongoing projects, and outstanding issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, project coordination and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of standardization acrossretail outlets including display layouts and facilities standards.
  • Promote cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and service providers.
  • Ensure adherence to company Environmental, Quality and Safety policies.
  • Perform any otherduties assigned by the Retail Project Manager.

Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project coordination, facilities management, construction supervision or a related technical field.
  • Experience supervising contractors and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Experience working in retail, construction, or facilities environments is an added advantage
