Job Description

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is situated in Juja, 36 kilometres North East of Nairobi, along Nairobi-Thika Highway. It was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government. Plans for the establishment of JKCAT started in 1977

Lecturer – Department of Zoology

LECTURER, GRADE 12 – REF: JKU/L/ZOO/03/2026 (1 POSITION)
All applicants must possess:

  • An Earned PhD in Fisheries and Aquaculture from a recognized institution and
  • An Earned Masters in Fisheries and Aquaculture science from a recognized institution
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture science or a biological science related course from a recognized institution
  • A KCSE/EACE/KCE academic certificate
  • Those that have at least three (3) years teaching and research experience at the university level will have an added advantage

 

Printing Assistant

REF: JKU/ADM/PRI-I/4/2025
All applicants must:

  • Possess Diploma in Printing Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Possess KCSE/EACE/KCE academic certificate
  • Applicants with at least three (3) years’ relevant working experience will have an added advantage

 

Machine Operator II

All applicants Must possess:

  • GTT II or Certificate in printing from a recognized institution

  • Possess a PhD in Landscape Architecture or Urban and Regional Planning or Infrastructure Planning or Environmental Planning or related disciplines from an accredited and recognized institution;
  • Have earned a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban and Regional Planning or Environmental Planning or related disciplines from accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Planning from accredited and recognized university;

Tutorial Fellow – School of Architecture and Building Sciences

TUTORIAL FELLOW, GRADE 11-REF: JKU/ADM/TF/LA/03/2026 (1 POSITIONS)
The candidate MUST:

  • Have earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Development or Urban and Regional Planning from accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from accredited and recognized university;
  • Be registrable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Landscape Architecture or Urban andRegional Planning ;
  • Be registered or registrable with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

 

Research Fellow, Grade 12 (Energy Technology)

RESEARCH FELLOW, GRADE 12 (ENERGY TECHNOLOGY) -REF: JKU/ADM/RF/ET/26
The applicant MUST:

  • Possess a Ph.D. in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Physics, Energy Technology or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Master’s degree in Energy Technology, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Physics and any of the areas in (i) above or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physical, Biological Sciences, Agriculture and any of the areas in (i) above or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable)

Applicants with the following additional qualifications will have an added advantage:

  • At least three years’ experience in teaching, technical or research at university level or industry
  • At least three publications in peer-referred journals

 

Research Fellow, Grade 12 (Occupational Safety & Health)

RESEARCH FELLOW, GRADE 12 (OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH) – REF: JKU/ADM/RF/OT/26
The applicant MUST:

  • Possess a Ph.D. in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Have earned a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Physical, Biological Sciences, Agriculture and any of the areas in (i) above or equivalent degree from an accredited and recognized university;
  • Be registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable)

Applicants with the following additional qualifications will have an added advantage:

  • At least three years’ experience in teaching, technical or research at university level or industry
  •  At least three publications in peer-referred journals
